The house is for sale
The house is very spacious indeed with 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, balconies, huge sun-deck and with the most fantastic views. All walls, floors and roof are built and all walls and ceilings plastered and painted. Doors, windows and roller aluminium blinds are fitted, electrical wiring & plumbing installed and connected, 2 baths, all floor tiles etc. It now needs internal doors, kitchen, cupboards, aircon, solar panel, tank etc and some more landscaping. The main construction is done so it is a good project for anyone who has the money but doesn't want the difficulty and 12 months for getting planning permission. The location is superb as it sits in a 5,100 sq m olive grove with views of sea and mountains.
17 June 2010 : solar heating system installed on roof. We now have HOT water. Painting of outside walls is underway.
11 June 2010 : electricity is now connected ! Unfortunately, we really need to sell the house as it is too big for us and we don't have enough time there.
08 April 2010 : the house survived a severe winter with many rainstorms.
People arrived from electricity company to put in 3 electricity poles. These are large, like UK telegraph poles. Next the cabling must be done, and the electrician can get to work on the connections inside.
20 October 2009 : a lot more progress on house :
- Main plumbing complete and water connected.
- Both bathrooms / toilets finished. Separate toilet and basin upstairs finished. We had our first shower (cold) before leaving in August
- All electrical wiring done. Plug sockets and switches fitted
- Waiting for electricity, but people from electricity company visited on 19 Oct
- Staircase finished with marble (marmara) : it looks superb, matching well with the floor tiles
- Interior walls all painted
- Septic tank : hole dug and concrete sections installed, connected and backfilled
15 August 2009 : - Front steps finished
- All doors, windows, roller shutters, mozzie screens in place
- All wiring on ground and top floor done. Basement in progress.
- Ordered bathroom items, toilets, basins etc. To arrive next week
- Started application for eletricity
20 June 2009 : making some progress on house.
- Most of the windows are now installed. Doors to be done next
- Bathroom tiles and roof tiles finished
- Work started on front steps

House - April 2009 .... with windows !
Last year after the construction company stopped work due to their huge debts, we did a bit of work on the house to finish the floor tiles and do some landscaping to steer the winter rain round the house. When we arrived in April the inside of the house was completely dry so we were happy to start some more work on it.
